Cross-Promote Your Web Site with Complementary Businesses
Another way to bring traffic to your web site is for web surfers to click (or link) over from another web site. You can ask a successful web site owner in a complementary business to add a link from their web site to your site, or you can trade links by adding a link on your site to their site as well (if you think your web visitors would benefit from their expertise). For example, a real estate attorney might benefit from a link on a contractor or developer's site, while a personal injury attorney might benefir from a link on an auto body shop's web site.
Put Your URL Everywhere
You should also add your URL (web address) to every piece of paper that leaves your office. Letterhead, envelopes, business cards, brochures, flyers, paid advertising, and ad specialty items should have your web site address on them. A good rule of thumb to follow is: if it has your phone number or street address, it should have your web site address on it as well. As elementary as this may sound, many people overloook this simple step.
