Bankruptcy Courts All Included
The list of courts not participating in the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) U.S. Party/Case Index continues to shrink.
According to the list of non-participating courts posted at the PACER Web site, all of the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts are now participating in the U.S. Party/Case Index. As recently as the first quarter of 2006, the Georgia Southern, Virgin Islands and Virginia Western District Bankruptcy Courts were still not included in the Index.
Additionally, the Alaska District Court now participates in the Index, leaving the New Mexico District Court as the sole remaining non-participating jurisdiction.
While the Second, Fifth, Seventh and Eleventh District Courts of Appeals still do not participate in the Index, they can be searched individually via PACER.
The U.S. Party/Case Index is a national index for U.S. district, bankruptcy, and appellate courts. A small subset of information from each case is transferred to the U.S. Party/Case Index server each night located in San Antonio, Texas at the PACER Service Center. The system serves as a locator index for PACER. You may conduct nationwide searches to determine whether or not a party is involved in federal litigation.
The PACER Service Center is the Federal Judiciary's centralized registration, billing, and technical support center for electronic access to U.S. District, Bankruptcy, and Appellate court records.
