1. FBI Announces 2000 Crime Statistics

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has released its Uniform Crime Report for 2000. The FBI said that there was virtually no change in the Crime Index in 2000 compared to the 1999 figures. See http://www.netforlawyers.com/FBI_ucr.htm

2. Internet 'Way-Back' Machines Archives World Wide Web

The Internet Archive has made its archive of more than 10 billion web sites (some dating back to 1996) available to the public. The archive also contains nearly 1000 films available for download. See http://www.netforlawyers.com/wayback.htm

3. Research Experts Online

At one or more times in their careers, most attorneys will need to locate an expert for trial or pretrial consultation. Even when attorneys find an expert by personal referral, thus avoiding a search, they still often face the chore of conducting due diligence to verify credentials. 4. Site Offers IP News, Articles & Case Summaries

JurisNotes.com is an Intellectual property website and e-mail newsletter devoted to patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, trade dress, right of publicity, and other IP topics. The website itself is free to use, and includes articles, past case summaries, links to primary and secondary resources, and other research tools. 5. Los Angeles County Bar Launches Superior Court Civil Register Database

6. Current News Search Engine Now Available

RocketInfo, Inc. has launched a new current news search engine. See: http://www.netforlawyers.com/news_search.htm Internet For Lawyers Offers Ethics & General MCLE Quizzes Online Internet For Lawyers offers lawyers a low-cost option for satisfying their MCLE requirements with online MCLE quizzes on its web site. California, New York and Arizona attorneys can earn ETHICS, LAW PRACTICE MANAGEMENT or GENERAL credit for only $15.00 per hour. 10. Google Now Indexes Microsoft Office Files

SearchEngineWatch is reporting that Google has added the ability to index Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and include them in search results. See: http://www.netforlawyers.com/google_office.htm

11. Definitions of Nearly 1/4 Million Acronyms & Abbreviations Available Free Online
