Latest Gadgets to be Introduced at Consumer Electronics Show (CES)
Every year, barely after the New Year, the consumer technology industry comes together in Las Vegas for the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES¨) - the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow. There they introduce and celebrate the latest products and technological innovations in consumer electronics, including office productivity tools - the gadgets many of us love and can't manage to work without. The next International CES runs from January 8-11, 2007. The following is a preview of some of the gadgets expected to be unveiled at the show.
The Solar Charger 2000 The Solar Charger 2000 charges mobile phones and other electronic devices such as MP3 players, PDAs, GPS, hand-held games (including Sony PlayStation(R) Portable), and Apple iPod as well as USB and Bluetooth devices. The device features a 5V 500mA power bank, and has a built-in 3.7V, 900mA portable rechargeable lithium battery. In direct sunlight conditions, it will fully charge any applicable battery in three hours; however, it reportedly can still produce a slower charge even under heavy cloud cover.
The device measuring 8.3" x 8.6"; closed it is 8.3" x 2.8", and weighing less than 8 ounces will be ideal for road warriors and commuters alike. It could be particularly handy charging a Pocket PC or Palm device on an airplane (for those seated next to the window). Pricing has not yet been announced.
Charge 2 Go Power Station Charge 2 Go Power Station is a reusable, emergency power source that uses two standard AA battery to power mobile electronics. At launch, the Power Station will have connectors for most mobile phones and, new to the line up, the largest brands in the Smart Phone market (e.g. Nokia, Treo and Blackberry) and USB-powered devices. In the months to come, connections for most MP3 players (e.g. iPod) and gaming devices (e.g. PSP) are expected. Based on customer input about previous devices, the Charge 2 Go Power Station also includes an LED flashlight that operates in three modes (strobe, locked on, and timed). Sandisk V-Mate Digital Video Memort Card Recorder The Sandisk V-Mate allows users to watch their favorite videos/shows on the go, by recording video from an analog source (such as a VCR, camcorder, or TV) directly onto a flash memory card for playback on a mobile phone, PDA, MP3 player, portable game console such as the Sony PSPª (PlayStation¨ Portable), or notebook computer. Attorneys could use the V-Mate to digitally encode video depositions, or to easily review those videos while travelling or commuting.
